Redlands, CA (November 5, 2002 – Jerry E. Bartram, CPA an accounting/consulting firm providing accounting, tax, practice management, analysis and transition planning services for professionals and small business, is pleased to announce that Jerry E. Bartram has earned the select credential of CertifiedInformation Technology Professional (CITP). He is the first CPA in the Inland Empire to have achieved this certification.
The CITP credential, established in 2000 by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), distinguishes CPAs who are also Information Technology ("IT") professionals. A CITP must pass certification criteria that ensure their understanding of business processes and IT. Because they understand both, they are able to apply technology as a catalyst for change to help their clients achieve higher levels of success.
"We are extremely pleased that Jerry has earned the CITP designation," says Madelaine Feldman, Examinations Coordinator – Accreditations for the AICPA. "Conceptually, a CITP establishes the trust between operational managers and the IT department to achieve both teams' objectives by utilizing technology to help increase profits and efficiencies. As a CITP, Jerry Bartram will act as a bridge between our clients' operational managers and IT personnel to ensure that both groups, which can sometimes be at odds, better understand each other and create more effective technology solutions as a result."
As a CITP, Mr. Bartram will be held to the high professional and ethical standards of the AICPA. Given the nature of the credential, clients can have the confidence in a CITP's ability to deliver a combination of both business and information technology consulting services to solve unique business challenges. In addition, the continuing education requirements for CITPs ensure that designation holders stay on top of new trends and technologies that can be applied within their clients' organizations.
