The Foundation to Subsidize DeCoster's Kids Suzuki Anti-Drug, Anti-Violence Team in So. California

By Donald Lee

The Foundation for Family Dynamics, sponsors of FamilySOS.org are pleased to announce that the DeCoster's Kids Suzuki Anti-Drug Team performed in Southern California November, 2003, 2004,  2005 and 2006.  They will be in California in October, 2006.  This Anti-Drug Team is directed by Bob Sparenberg and originates in Houston, Texas. The team garners its name DeCoster's Kids from Roger DeCoster, 5 time 500cc World Motocross Title Holder who is a champion for the Suzuki Dream Team and Drug Free Teenagers. The team's motto is: "There is more excitement in life than being on top of your game 'on the dirt.' It is being on top of your game 'in life.'"

Everyone knows that the message of drug-free living is hard to get through to youth unless it comes on the right frequency. The Suzuki Dream Team delivers the right frequency and features the right models. The Riders (Models) who accompany the team are at the top of the sports field and ride the finest bikes. Best of all, the riders who come with the Team are more than champions 'on dirt,' they are personally committed to drug-free living. The Team sponsors prevention through motivation.

The business of the Team is to challenge the youth of our nation and our schools to get on top of their game and be drug free. Young people are encouraged to sign a pledge to be drug free at the conclusion of their program. The pledge:

"Realizing that, as a young American, the future of my country depends upon the chemical-free youth of today, I pledge to my country, community and parents to abstain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drugs, to avoid violence and gang involvement, to complete my education, to honor my country, and to encourage other young Americans to build a stronger America through drug-free minds."

Besides an in school presentation at an assembly, the Suzuki Dream Team does an outdoor jumping demonstration that grabs the youth and rivets their attention on 'being all they can be.'

Local authorities are invited to the jumping event such as the Sheriff's Department, Mayor or other City Representatives. The  Suzuki Dream Team has performed throughout the United States and traveled to numerous foreign countries during its 14 years of anti-drug campaigning.

The cost of a school presentation is $1,400 and can use up to 1/2 of the school's day. The Foundation for Family Dynamics will subsidize $500 for schools requesting a subsidy.  In addition, Dr. C. Norman Farley, a state licensed Marriage, Family and Child Counselor will do 2 presentations to parents of the sponsoring school (Home and School).  Follow this link to view  the subjects the local Home and School Boards may pick from:
